Pakistan team match-fixing scandal has now shifted to allegations that Pakistani players fixed the first Test against England in the series just ended.
Also, a latest video released by British tabloid The News of the World is perhaps the most shocking one yet. After the video where bookie Mazhar Majeed was seen putting 10,000 pounds into his jacket which was handed over by the News of the World reporter, in the new video Majeed is now seen taking off the jacket and handing it over to fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who puts it on. The bookie, arrested on Saturday and released on bail last night, was seen on video claiming that the result of a Test match played in Sydney in January this year between Australia and Pakistan was rigged. This was a sting operation conducted by The News of the World. In the video, Majeed is seen boasting about the fixed result of the Sydney Test and the money he earned from it.
Now, British tabloid The Sun has reported that Pakistani players also allegedly rigged the opening Test against England at Nottingham, which the hosts won by a massive 354 runs, in the series just ended.

Lafangey Parindey Movie Review
Lafangey Parindey is about free spirited characters who have fixed their goals and are determined to achieve the set goals. It is an edgy love story of one shot Nandu (Neil) and visually challenged girl, Pinky Palker (Deepika). Neil’s character is given the title of one shot as he is boxer and knocks down his rival in just one shot. He is expert in fighting blindfolded which is described as andha fighting in the movie. Pinky is blind but skilled in skate dancing and she wants to excel in life utilizing her flair.
“Lafangey Parindey” promises an adventuring love story of unconventional pair who lives on their acquired ideals and sets out to rise high in life. Both the actors have done lots of homework to portray the challenging roles. Deepika will be seen dancing on skates marvelously but you will be surprised to know that she did not know the ABC of skating before portraying Pinky Palker. She underwent training for almost six months at the stretch. World’s numero uno instructors from Italy came all the way to India to coach her in skating.
Deepika Padukone finds it most challenging to portray blind girl. She interacted with visually challenged people and observed their behavior and mannerism. She admits that it was hard to pretend to be blind and staring at one spot constantly. However she has put her earnest labor in the character without any equipment of sun glasses or a stick even. Neil also performed daring stunts under the instructions of action director Sham Kaushal. He admits that he used to return home with bruises on his body. He even escaped from being hurt while riding on motorbike in a sequence.
Looking into the career backgrounds of Deepika and Neil; both are playing at the safe grounds as Neil has in his account “New York” and Deepika has “Houseful” in her name. The movie is set to release on Aug 20.

Vijay’s new film with Siddique has gone for a title change for the third time. When the film started had the MGR film title ‘Kaavalkaran’ hoping to cash in on the ever green popularity of MGR films. But when the original producers of the MGR movie Sathya Movies objected, the title was changed to ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’.
But the second title did not find encouraging reactions from even among Vijay fans. So now the title has been again changed to ‘Kaavalan’.
Another major development with the film according to sources is that director Shakthi Chidambaram has purchased the film lock stock and barrel including its negative rights. This sudden development has taken many by surprise. When most of the Tamil community is up in arms against the film because of Asin and the overseas business is in threat, Shakthi Chidambaram’s move is being viewed with mixed reaction.

Filmmaker Arun Vaidyanthan has tried his hand at a theme, which many would hesitate to do in a commercial format. A story what is appropriate for a docu-drama has found its way into a full-length feature film. Arun has exercised care and restraint is dealing about the sensitive issue of child abuse, which has unfortunately not garnered the attention it deserves.
Made entirely in USA, Achamundu Achamundu revolves around a couple, for whom everything is their young daughter. But what happens when a pedophile enters their house forms the story. Though Arun sends fear in our spine in the first half, he has handled the second half quite carefully.
Due credit should be given the artistes. Prasanna, Sneha and John Shea ensure that the momentum is not lost anywhere in the film. Also, it is for the first time that the Red One Camera has been used in Tamil cinema. It adds to the clarity of the visuals.
Senthil (Prasanna) is a computer engineer settled in the USA with his wife Mallu (Sneha) and their five-year-old daughter Rithika (Akshaya). The three have a whale of time living for each other. It is when one painter Robertson (John Shea) enters their house that their life takes a turn. Robertson wins the trust of Senthil and Mallu with his good work but he is actually a pedophile. He decides to kidnap Rithika. Eventually Senthil realises what Robertson is up to and he decides to counter his attempts.
Prasanna has done a neat job. His onscreen chemistry with Sneha is impressive. Sneha has given her best shot. She is at her ease playing the role. But John Shea, playing a tricky role with elan, walks away with the honours. Karthik Raja has come out with a couple of melodies. The background score by Martio adds value to the narrative.
The movie tries to portray the darker side of human nature but it hasn’t explored the subject adequately. The director has portrayed well the realities of young NRI couples living in the USA. The movie would have been a far better attempt had the director had gone into the subject – sexual harassment against children – more deeply.

Being a campus oriented story, the music release will also be a campus oriented function. Prakash raj, the producer of the film, has planned for different events in various places of Chennai which he believes will make the music reach the public in an effective way.
The audio releases on “friendship day” which coincides with the theme of the film. So the “Inidhu Inidhu” team will organize contests among friends and give away free CDs to winners. Ampa Mall Skywalk, Satyam Cinemas are some of the places where the events are planned.
Prakash has also decided to organize similar events in Coimbatore and Madurai.
