Tamil actor S S Chandran died of heart attack in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district on Friday night, party officials said on Saturday.
Chandran, 69, had addressed a public meeting at Muthupettai in Tiruvarur district on Friday night and went to Mannargudi where he was supposed to address a public meeting on Saturday.
According to party officials, Chandran complained of chest pain in the night and was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
His body was brought here on Saturday.
Chandran, who had acted in more than 700 films, had also been a Rajya Sabha member.
Doctors told that cardiac arrest was the reason behind S.S.Chandran’s death and he was going through heart related problems also. He is having one daughter and one son. SS Chandran popularly called as Nagaichuvai Selvar by his fans and peers.
Chandran was having a popular name as ‘Nagaichuvai Selvar’ among political circle, friends and public. He was popular in both arenas due to his style and good nature.
