Shikkar is family action thriller which comprises good story, action, super suspense and stunning climax. M Padmakumar’s Shikkar features the Superstar Mohanlal, Ananya, Samudrakani and Sneha in main roles. Once again Mohanlal comes with a strong and different character and shows his range of acting. Shikkar is all about the story of a wounded father hunted by someone and it is about the struggle of a Man to Live and it is all about the Hunter and the Wounded.
As told earlier, the movie is a suspense family thriller with super climax. While coming to the performances Mohanlal is once again superb with powerpacked performance and also Samudrkani and Ananya has done brillinatly there roles. Other supporting casts also did justice to their roles. Mohanlal looks more energetic and after a long gap we are seeing such performance from him espescially in the climax scene.
Other positives of the movie are stunning climax, nice songs, Locations, background score, nice picturization. M Padmakumar directed the movie brilliantly and shikkar will be the best film in his career as director. Once again Manoj Pillai did his works superbly as the cinematographer. The only negative of the movie is the some over comedy done by Suraj Venjaranmoodu.

Ram Janmabhoomi (Hindi/Devanagiri: राम जन्मभूमि) is the "Birthplace of Rama." Rama is a major figure in Indian history and the Hindu religion where he is described as an avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism. The exact location of Rama's birth is not stated with any specific accuracy by the Hindu texts, but the term popularly refers to a tract of land in the North Indian city of Ayodhya. From 1512 to 1992 this was the site of the Babri Mosque which was surrounded on all sides by Sita Rasoi (Lord Rama's wife Sita Devi's Kitchen - actually a Temple and other Temples of Hanuman, etc) and the disputed structure sharing walls with Sita and Hanuman Mandir was destroyed when a political rally developed into a riot involving 150,000 people. The original Hindu temple was demolished or dramatically modified on the orders of the Mughal Emperor Babur and the mosque was built in its place.
A movement was launched in 1984 by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP party) to reclaim the site for Hindus who want to erect a temple dedicated to the infant Rama (Ramlala), at this spot. Many Muslim organizations have continued to express outrage at the destruction of the disputed structure and carried out the 2005 Ram Janmabhoomi attack in Ayodhya along with strong opposition to building of the proposed new temple even threatening the Head of current Ram Temple (at same spot since 1992).[1] There were several later mosques in Faizabad district in which pilgrim city of Ayodhya falls. But, Ayodhya has almost negligible[2] Muslim population though there are substantial Muslims 7 km away at District Headquarters - Faizabad. The Babri Mosque at Ayodhya where Muslims never offered Namaz since 1947 independence became famous due to the importance of the disputed site where Hindus have been offering Pujas to Lord Ramlala from even before 1947 independence. Since, 1948 Indian Government order Muslims were not even permitted to be near the site for at least 200 yards but locked the main gate and allowed Hindu pilgrims to enter through a side door. Also, the 1989 Allahabad High Court order opened the locks of the main gate and restored the site for eternity to the Hindus. A movement was launched in 1984 by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP party) to reclaim the site for Hindus who want to erect a temple dedicated to the infant Rama (Ramlala), at this spot. Many Muslim organizations have continued to express outrage at the destruction of the disputed structure and carried out the 2005 Ram Janmabhoomi attack in Ayodhya along with strong opposition to building of the proposed new temple even threatening the Head of current Ram Temple (at same spot since 1992).[1] There were several later mosques in Faizabad district in which pilgrim city of Ayodhya falls. But, Ayodhya has almost negligible[2] Muslim population though there are substantial Muslims 7 km away at District Headquarters - Faizabad. The Babri Mosque at Ayodhya where Muslims never offered Namaz since 1947 independence became famous due to the importance of the disputed site where Hindus have been offering Pujas to Lord Ramlala from even before 1947 independence. Since, 1948 Indian Government order Muslims were not even permitted to be near the site for at least 200 yards but locked the main gate and allowed Hindu pilgrims to enter through a side door. Also, the 1989 Allahabad High Court order opened the locks of the main gate and restored the site for eternity to the Hindus. It’s September 16 and it’s that time of year when all Mexicans from around the world are celebrating Mexican Independence Day. This year marks a special ocasion: it’s 200 years of independence, meaning that 2010 is the year of the Bicentennial Celebrations in Mexico. On September 1810 Mexico began a 10-year war for independence with Spain and since the country gained its independence, things came a long way but violence is still too high.
The American media has reported that president Felipe Calderon will be celebrating Mexican Independence Day with a $40 million extravaganza in Mexico City, the two-day party will include laser shows, fireworks, live music. It’s a way of giving hope to the Mexican people who are facing a terrible recession and are collateral victims in the war against narco-terrorists. Because two years ago these narco-terrorists threw grenades into the crowd gathered at a Mexican Independence Day fiesta, this year the security will be even tighter, since this is the Bicentennial.
The traditional shout-out in Mexico for Mexican Independence Day is “Viva Mexico!” After the 1910 revolution that toppled dictator Porfirio Diaz, Mexicans were free to live in their own country, to have their own government and be able to shout out loud (or gritar) “Viva Mexico!”
The early history of Mexico
The first people to inhabit the land that now we call Mexico were indigenous people that created a few great civilizations such as the Olmec, the Teotihuacan, Maya, Toltec, and the Aztec Empire, one of the most powerful Empire in the world. In 1521, 500 Spanish soldiers, leaded by Hernán Cortés landed in Mexico and they decided to attack the Aztecs empire (the Aztecs ruled over all Mesoamerica). The indigenous people thought that helping the Spanish soldiers would be the best way to live their lives as they wanted so they started helping the Conquerors. So in 1521 the last Aztec emperor was captured and the people from the what was left of the empire fell in the hands of a more authoritarian empire: the Spanish. They ruled Mexico for three centuries, making the former Aztec empire a colony named Nueva España, which means the New Spain.
It was a terrible period for the indigenous people. The conquerors brought many unknown and not treatable diseases, the New Spain was full of sick people or workers who were over worked. The colony was falling into pieces as many Indians perished. From almost 20 million Indians inhabiting the lands, after one century of Spanish rule, only 1 million of Indians were left.
Things got a little hope after Napoleon invaded Spain and imposed his brother, José Bonaparte, as king of Spain (1808-1810). He only rules 2 years because the Mexican people started a war seeking their independence from Spain. They had the models from France and the United States and in 1810 they planned to start the war on October 2nd. The Spanish found out about their plans and the Mexicans had to move fast with their plan to revolt immediately.
The riot started in the early hours of September 16, 1810 when father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Roman Catholic Priest, and his conspirators rang the bell of his church in Dolores, calling all the people from his village to fight for freedom. And this is how it started the 10-year-long war of Mexican Independence.
El Grito del Dolores
Father Hidalgo shouted to his followers: “My children, a new dispensation comes to us today…Will you free yourselves? Will you recover the lands stolen 300 years ago from your forefathers by the hated Spaniards? We must act at once.” And this is known today as “El Grito.”

Today the Mexican Independence Day is celebrated with fiestas at every street cornet, vendors selling flags, balloons and sombreros. Every Mexican puts out the Mexican flag outside the house and in the zocalo the lights are simply spectacular. That’s the place where the 16 de Septiembre is being celebrated and the place where the fiesta starts.
The Mexican food served at the Mexican Independence Day fiesta is antojitos, Mexican candies and punch made of guayabas, sugarcane, raisins and apples. The traditional dishes are Mole Poblano, Chiles en Nogada, Guacamole and chips. The best of the fiesta is when the crown joins and shouts the names of the heroes of the Mexican Independence, ending the shouts with the traditional el grito: Viva Mexico!

AGS Entertainment’s Tamil movie Bale Pandiya directed by Sidharth Chandrasekhar promise to be a riot of comedy and romance.
Piaa Bajpai and Vishnu of Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu are the lead pair. Music director is Devan Ekambaram and lyrics are by Vaali and Thamarai.
Sirikkiren Naan Srikkiren begins slowly, in almost anguish-ridden fashion, with peppy beats, rendered by Naresh Iyer, Mano, Shiva Chidhambaram, Dr Burn and Uma Shankar. There’s a classical touch which adds some depth to the number. A musical medley, a combination of guitar strings and violins makes a brief appearance, before moving onto the charanam which has a catchy rhythm that’s instantly appealing. Post the second interlude, the tune moves here and there without any appreciable method but the madness attracts you, not to mention the almost breathless beats. And when it shifts to the Mama-Maple routine that was so integral to the original film Bale Pandiya, the experience becomes worthwhile.
Happy begins almost like a homage to the yesteryear hit Happy, with a melodious whistle and finger-snaps. A host of singers that almost takes up the whole of the cd’s back cover — Haricharan, Devan Ekambaram, Naresh Iyer, Naveen Madhav, Paravai Muniyamma, Malayasia Vasudevan, Ranjith, Aalaap Raju, Raqueeb Alam, Anuradha Sriram, Srinivas, Velumurugan, Manikka Vinayagam, Mukesh, Malgudi Shuba, Divya Vijay, Anitha, Suchitra Karthik, Vijay Yesudas and Rahul Nambiar. There’re ribald comments about movie-world’s actresses, dress codes in colleges, discounts in shops, petrol, diesel woes, even a tongue-in-cheek dig at Satyam’s IT woes — and all at the same pace. The chorus reminds you of a sing-along, sort of like Church musical, especially in the final moments, it’s very urban. Definitely a different experience — pleasant and gentle.
After a few moments of Ivan Thedal, you divine that this profusion of rap from Dr Burn and Arun Ramamurthi is a sort of theme song, especially when the refrain “Bale Pandiya!” rings out. The instrumental medley is an intriguing one, and does grab your attention, especially the veena interlude. It might be interesting to know how this number will be picturized, since the lyrics are a mixture of love, failure, trying to make it to your destination and others.
Unnikrishnan and Mrinalini contribute their considerable vocal charms towardsKangalae Kamalalayam which begins like a bonafide western number, complete with guitars and then switches to classical strains. It sounds rather like an early A R Rahman composition.
A raspy voice asks if the mike is fixed correctly, and then launches straight into a rural account, which morphs into Bale Pandiya, a mixture of synthesized beats and thaarai thappattai. Velumurugan, Naresh Iyer and Ranjith contribute their vocals while the harmonica makes a bizarre appearance, cowboy fashion. The lyrics are hilarious but the tune is nothing to speak of.
Bale Pandiya might tread the familiar path sometimes, but composer Devan Ekambaram has made a conscious effort to produce a different listening experience and in the end, that makes this album a pleasant listen.
