I'm a huge metal and rock fan but I'm also very religious because I say my prayers every night, go to mass every week, and carry rosary beads with me and even bless myself when I'm passing a church. But I'm worried that is it a sin to listen to rock or metal music? I mean I was listening to a metal song by Motorhead called God was never On Your Side and other ones by them called Bad Religion, Don't Need Religion and Time is Right (which was about God not caring).
The message behind the music isn't always relevant. I don't agree with every single lyric written by every single band I listen to, so no it's not really a sin. Even then, there are plenty of bands with religious/Christian messages: trouble, Mortification, Stryper, even Black Sabbath wrote from a Christian perspective on "Master Of Reality". the "Satanic" metal band Mercyful Fate featured a Christian band with a devout Satanist as the singer/chief lyricist. Slayer sang of blasphemies even though their vocalist is Catholic. in Tom Araya's words, "if these lyrics make people happy, then I have done a Christian thing", which cracks me up.
Look, metal bands with Satanic themes are akin to professional wrestlers taking on characters or roles. sure, most of the time there is some underlying feeling of disgust, but I wouldn't take every word or gesture so seriously.

I'm always a follower of Jesus, but it's not a sin. It's just music. There isn't a commandment saying "shall not listen to rock music". You can listen to anything you want. That's the freedom of music. and rock/heavy metal music isn't the worst music out there. That's pretty mellow.
No, I go to church every week and listen to Gorgoroth and other Black Metal bands

Music is awesome I don't care what kind of music it is in my ipod I have all genres of music from country to metal even some christian rock. my 11 year old likes Marilyn Manson and system of a down, but she also has some Justin Beiber. Music is what you make of it, it makes me smile when I hear a happy song or if I'm having a bad day I like to just put on my head phones and listen to some good hard core music.

I listen to stuff like Korn, my chemical Romance, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, NOFX,Black Veil Brides and that's not exactly in the Metal section, but I'm a good Christian and tend not to follow the footsteps that are suggested in some of the songs' lyrics :D if you like what you're listening to and if it makes you happy…just do it :D

Airtel’s New Logo & Signature tune–Better or Worse?
How much importance does a logo or signature tune have for a brand? And that too for a brand that has established itself in the field of telecom [^] , which is one of utmost competition with operators making a beeline for supremacy. Airtel which has established itself as one of the world leaders in mobile telephony has finally started showing the results of its Rs 300 cr spend for marketing, advertising and branding. The first to change are the logo and the signature tunes.
Airtel’s previous logo had both white and red colours interchangeably. The interesting part was that the word ‘Air’ was written in black with a white background while ‘Tel’ was written in white on a red background. Sometimes they also included their slogan “Express Yourself” with the logo.
But today the logo looks more like a curved ‘A’ with little bit of highlighting to indicate what they call dynamism and the warm and friendly appeal of Airtel. They have also said that it represents a dynamic force of energy which would bring the management and customers closer.
If this wasn’t enough, AR Rahman after his debacle with the CWG tune (though the remix was much better) comes back with a theme song having a younger and international feel to it. Their new commercial shows how a couple comes together due to the Airtel 3G technology which interestingly will be launched in India only by December.
Airtel is offering services now in 19 Asian and African countries where truthfully speaking it has not yet reached leadership status though it’s there on that path. Through their rebranding and repositioning exercise, they aim to achieve an international appeal wherein customers not only in India but across the world recall their brand. With these points in mind, they seem to have embarked on this ambitious journey.
Does the move really work?
It’s a taken that wherever Airtel plans to expand around the globe, India will be its most important market. Would be interested to hear from you if anyone of you disagrees with that statement. Therefore the biggest move everyone was waiting for was their introduction of 3G services in India.
But instead Airtel came up with a complete rebranding exercise including a new logo, TV commercial and signature tune.
The previous signature tune of Airtel by AR Rahman is probably the most downloaded ringtone in the country at least. One thing about that tune was that it was instantly catchy when compared to the general trend related to AR Rahman tunes / songs. The new tune seems to have some words which I personally don’t seem to understand. It looks more peppy and international in its approach. But truth be told it DESTROYS the entire experience Airtel’s previous tune had set up.
The new commercials both talk about the 3G video calling experience and how it brings two love birds closer. But it’s still going to be a month before the 3G experience comes to India. Their previous ads were very inspirational or about bringing people together and included celebrities like Sachin, Shahrukh, Vidya Balan, Madhavan etc.
Final Verdict
Poor attempt by Airtel to target the international audience. I wish instead they would have spent the 300 cr at improving their customer services and infrastructure. Everyone will still go for Airtel because they are still one of the best. But then today they majorly disappointed the country! It looks like in an attempt to please the international audience, they have forgotten about their home country itself!

The second schedule was planned from March 15 in Palakole and its nearby areas in West Godavari district. Again we are shooting some key scenes involving the lead artistes. The current schedule would continue till April 4.”

According to the police, during the filming of 'Sleeping with the Enemy', which took place in Chungchungnam-do Cheongyang-goon Goochi-ri, the explosive effect props suddenly exploded. Due to this accident, Mr. Lee (34 years old) was injured in his leg and stomach by explosive fragments; he is currently staying in Seoul Han River Seongsim Hospital.
Police added, “Mr. Lee was not actor, one of the staffs. The explosion took place while they were filming a battle scene.” Police will conduct intensive investigation into this case, figuring out whether this explosion happened from mismanagement.

Government Decleared holiday for JAL cyclone really helps and made happy for the residents of Palikaranai, Chennai
In the absence of adequate facilities to drain rainwater, lack of proper maintenance and an indifferent attitude from the various arms of the government, several hundred residents of a locality in Pallikaranai have been suffering for years on account of the pathetic condition of roads.
There are three main roads, 10 streets and some more cross streets that run through and connect all areas of Kamakoti Nagar in Pallikaranai. Formed as a neat layout about a decade ago, residents began to move into apartment complexes and their own independent houses about six years ago when the condition of roads was good.
However, now the residents of the locality are angry and upset with the Directorate of Town Panchayats and the Kancheepuram district administration for letting them down as the streets are no longer in a motorable condition. Even the three main roads are not entirely motorable, while 10 streets are full of potholes.
The recent showers had worsened the situation with sharp, protruding gravel, combined with layers of slush, making it miserable for pedestrians, especially schoolchildren and senior citizens.
Residents pointed out that vehicles suffered extensive damage.
According to office-bearers of Sri Kamakoti Nagar Plot Owners and Residents Welfare association, the natural gradient was such that rainwater entering their locality from Velachery Main Road, Pallavaram Thoraipakkam Radial Road and neighbouring localities had to flow out through the northeastern corner before emptying into Pallikaranai marshland and subsequently, the ‘Okkiyam maduvu.'
During the construction of a flyover at Pallikaranai junction, a stormwater drain on the margins of Velachery Main Road was damaged, adding to their woes.
Encroachments along the natural course of water and inadequate culverts contributed to the water stagnation.
The residents said that neighbouring localities had better quality of roads and wondered why they were being discriminated. Incidentally, cement concrete surfaces were provided without an exception in Kamakshi Nagar, located at the tail-end of Kamakoti Nagar. Urging the Kancheepuram district administration and the Directorate of Town Panchayats to intervene without any further delay, the residents said they could consider identifying the worst-affected stretches and carry out improvement works at least on them.
According to government officials, they were not discriminating against any one locality and it was just a matter of time before improvement works were taken up in Kamakoti Nagar, which came under Ward No. 2 of Pallikaranai Town Panchayat.
Conceding that the streets were not re-laid for more than five years, authorities said funds crunch was also to be blamed for the quality of amenities, not just in Kamakoti Nagar, but also other localities of the town panchayat.

Tamilnadu Goverment declared holiday for Schools and colleges in Tamil nadu.
The report said that the time system is moving west and north-west and north Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh, between the coast near Nellore Pondicherry and Chennai on November 7 in the “afternoon or evening. The recession, which formed on the Bay of Bengal and the typhoon was moving west.

The Department reports that there is a strong possibility of heavy rains in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry (Pondicherry), Andhra Pradesh , at any time within 24 hours.
Private Colleges, Schools and companies also may expected holiday tomorrow. When the Cyclone intensifies, it is expected that most of the chennai and other inner parts of tamilnadu will be at the flooding stage. It will be very hard for commuting.

Collector Gaari bhaarya (Collector’s wife) is a Telugu film made on the problems faced by women. A movie directed by debutante T Kripakar Reddy, the movie revolves around a collector’s wife. The film espouses the cause of the woman, rather the wife who is neglected after marriage, it also touches upon the issue of the girl child (in a breezy way) and the craving for a boy in Indian society in a rather sermonising way. In a way, it portrays the plight of the woman in a tad simplistic and fairly idealistic way.
Indira (Bhumika), a MBA graduate wants to do something with her education. Unfortunately, the day she comes home after getting her degree, she is forced into marriage with Gautam (Prakash Raj [ Images ]), an IAS topper. Then her life takes a turn. Her husband (the collector) though educated is the archetypal male chauvinist who believes only in the male progeny to carry on the lineage. He is not happy with the birth of two daughters and wants a son. Indira is forced to go through a third pregnancy at the cost of her health. She suffers silently which is rather surprising.
The parallel track looks at the administration, corruption, politicians etc as Gautam has to function in a set-up which is highly corrupt and full of brokers making money. It traces the transfers he has to face on account of his non-bending attitude. That is in the beginning but later the movie is embroiled with the personal affairs.
On the one hand, the film shows Gautam as the principled and clean bureaucrat, while on the other as the insensitive husband obsessed for the son with no affection towards his wife. But all this is depicted in a slow manner making the audience feel the need for a faster pace.
Post-interval there is some momentum when Indira decides to review her life (after a chance meeting with an old college friend). She embarks on the route of championing the cause of the woman, particularly of the housewives who afterloses her identity marriage. Neglecting the house, she becomes a ‘firebrand’and starts a movement which gains momentum in different cities. This whole issue dominates the second half and is simplistic, sketchy and far-fetched.
Director Kripakar Reddy’s treatment of the age-old subject could have been more interesting rather than a stereotypical one. His homework of IAS officers’ rankings should have been better as one couldn’t fathom how a collector suddenly rises up to be an additional secretary within a few years of service! Álso too-much emphasis is laid on money-making mechanisms of the brokers and middlemen.
Prakash Raj fits the role well and performs in his usual style. Bhumika as the sweet, demure, submissive wife in the first half and the ‘feminist’in the second half acts well showing the transformations in her character. The lead actors Prakash Raj and Bhumika are the only redeeming aspect of the film. The other cast is okay with all the comedians like Brahmanandam, Krishna Bhagava, MS Narayana, Dharamavarapu and Venu Madhav making their entries although in different roles.
The film is in the mainstream format with quite a few songs which sound pleasant to the ear. There’s nothing much to rave about the technical aspects of the film.
