2012 Honda City Launched - Honda City Sedan 2012 Pictures Specifications Reviews

Honda launched the highly anticipated 2012 Honda City in New Delhi today. An additional variant named 'Corporate' has been added along with the other existing E, S and V models with a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh. The E variant is priced at Rs 7.70 lakh, the S variant is priced at Rs 8.20, the V-MT variant is priced at Rs 8.70 lakh and the V-AT variant is priced at Rs 9.42 lakh. A first in its class, an electric sun-roof has been installed in the V variant which will bump up the price tag for the V MT to Rs 9.50 lakh and the V AT to Rs. 10.22 lakh. (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi.) Bookings for the new City will commence immediately at all the Honda dealerships nationwide and deliveries will begin in January 2012.

Design tweaks have been made to the front grille, front bumper, rear tail lamps and the rear bumpers which now wears reflectors. Newly-designed 10-spoke alloy wheels the look similar to the Accord's wheels are present on the car. The turn indicators have been housed in the outside rear view mirrors. On the inside, the new City wears revamped seat fabrics, and Blue Meter graphics. The dashboard has been tweaked and a cruise control feature has been installed.

The sixth generation City will house a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder VTEC petrol engine with power output of 118.4PS@6600 rpm and max torque of 145Nm@4800 rpm. The engine will be mated to either a 5-speed  manual or automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control and torque converter. The average fuel economy is reported to be 16.8kmpl. It will come equipped with an electrical power steering, ventilated disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The ground clearance has also been increased to 165mm from 160mm.  

The new City will be available in two new color options, the Carnelian Red Pearl and the Sparkling Brown Metallic along with the four existing color options of Urban Titanium Metallic, Bold Beige Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic and Taffeta White.
