Lakhs of devotees will throng the temples to have a darshan of holy god on this holy day. Uthsavar will be taken to Ponds and abhishekam will be held. Many Devotees will take holy dip in the sacred ponds along with the uthsavar.
Kumbakonam is the well known place for its celebration. Special abhishekam, yagam, pooja and aarti will be held in Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Lord Muruga and all temples.
During this time in Tirutani and other Lord Muruga Temples Sri Subramanya Valli Thirukalyanam will be held. In Tiruchendur Sri Subramanya Temple 12 days festival will be held.
