Veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran was servived with wife Kalyanikutty Amma (Late) and children K. Muraleedharan and Padmaja Venugopal. K. Karunakaran was a senior politician from Kerala, India belonging to Congress party. Karunakaran was a former Chief Minister of Kerala, Home minister of Government of Kerala, and Minister for Industries of Government of India. Karunakaran was affectionately called “Leader” by Congress activists. He was often criticized for apparent nepotism.
K.Karunakaran one of the India’s senior politician and former Kerala, a state of India, chief minister passed away on December 23, 2010 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He was born on 5th July 1918 in Kannur. He was one of the senior members of political party Indian National Congress. He was called as Leader by the congress activists all around the nation.
K.Karunakaran was a very close friend of Nehru Family. For last one year he had been under treatment for old age disabilities. He was very active in politics until bedridden.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday morning at Thrissur with all official revards. Indian Prime Minister Manmohen Singh and UPA president Sonia Ghandhi will come to Kerala on Friday to see the body.
