Shree Panchami or Basant Panchami or Vasant Panchami, everything refers to the same hindu festival celebrated for the Goddess saraswathi, known for Knowledge, Power and art.
The very first day of Spring, every year 5th day of Magh month will be celebrated as Panchami day (January - February)
Basara Gnana Saraswati Temple in Andhra Pradesh is well known for its celebrations.
South Indians calls this festival as Sarawathi Puja. It will also be celebrated in countries like Bangladesh and India.
Goddess Saraswathi is the consort of Lord Brahma (Lord of Creation) and is the Goddess of wisdom and learning. Goddess Saraswati is the one who gives the essence (sara) of our own self (swa). She is considered as the personification of all knowledge - arts, sciences, crafts and other skills.
