The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed ban on tainted Pakistani cricketers - Mohammad Asif, Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir.

Pakistan's Sports Minister Ijaz Hussain Jakhrani has welcomed the International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption Tribunal's decision To ban the crickters, over spot-fixing charges.

Salman Butt was banned for 10 years, while Mohammad Asif was banned for seven years. Mohammad Amir (Mohammad Aamer) was handed out a five-year ban.

These cricketers were found guilty of spot-fixing. They also face criminal charges in London. While Butt was handed out a 10-year ban with five years of suspended sentence, Asif was served a seven-year ban with two years of suspended sentence.

Butt, Asif and Amir reported took money from a bookie, Mazhar Majeed to bowl deliberate no-balls during the Lord's Test against England on 26-27 August 2010.

"The Tribunal found that the charges under Article 2.1.1 of the Code that (respectively) Mr Asif agreed to bowl and did bowl a deliberate no ball in the Lord's Test match played between Pakistan and England from 26 to 29 August 2010, Mr Amir agreed to bowl and did bowl two deliberate no balls in the same Test, and Mr Butt was party to the bowling of those deliberate no balls, were proved," said the ICC statement.
