Gia Mantegna, actor Joe Mantegna’s daughter, will glam up as Miss Golden Globes 2011 tonight. Gia Mantegna, the 20-year-old, joins a long line of Hollywood debutantes as this year’s Miss Golden Globe. Gia Mantegna teams up with Taylor Jacobson while Rachel Zoe will dress Anne Hathaway for the Oscars.
Mantegna says she is happy to be with Tay Tay because she’s not comfortable choosing outfits herself. The two told news this week that Mia will undoubtedly wear three dresses during the show and four outfits in post and pre-awards events.
Gia Mantegna will be escorting the nominees around the stage, doling out awards, and (perhaps most fun to watch) giving winners the shepherd’s hook when their time at the mic is up.
Miss Golden Globe is a rite of passage a hallowed title bestowed upon a few lucky girls who are both the spawn of Hollywood royalty and themselves aspiring actors: Linda Evans, Laura Dern, and, more recently, Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter, Rumer.
Mantegna has had a short career, appearing in 13 Going on 30 and The Secret Life of the American Teenager since debuting alongside her father in the 2003 film Uncle Nino.
But, like 1975’s Miss Golden Globe Melanie Griffith, Mantegna could easily go from bestowing the award to eventually winning one.
